Despite a dramatic stumble right out of the gate from Post 9, Golden Tempo staged a furious charge down the stretch at Saratoga Race Course to secure the victory. Ridden by José Ortiz and trained by Cherie DeVaux, the Kentucky Derby winner overcame a lack of early pace shape to track down Commandment and favorite Renegade, sealing a historic Triple Crown finale victory.
