WARNOCK AND OSSOFF LOOK POISED TO WIN GEORGIA SENATE RUNOFFS
Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loefferler hold slight leads in the Georgia State Runoffs, but BUSR indicates the race will be very close until Atlanta and DeKalb County votes tip race to Warnock and Ossoff
UPDATE: January 6, 2021 – BUSR has called the race for Georgia Senate. Warnock beats Loeffler and Ossoff defeats Perdue.
Las Vegas – (January 4, 2021) -The BUSR/UNLV Lee Business School poll of Georgia likely voters finds Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler with nominal leads over Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, respectively, ahead of the Senate runoff elections on January 5, 2021. Perdue and Loeffler both lead Ossoff and Warnock, respectively, by a 49%-48% margin among Georgia likely voters.
44% of Georgia likely voters approve of Loeffler’s performance as Senator while 40% disapprove of her performance. 47% of Georgia likely voters approve of Perdue’s performance as Senator while 39% disapprove of his performance.
44% of Georgia likely voters believe that widespread voter fraud occurred in the 2020 general election for the presidency. 46% of Georgia likely voters do not believe that widespread voter fraud occurred in the 2020 general election for the presidency.
48% of Georgia likely voters indicate that they will take the COVID-19 vaccine while 30% indicate that they will not take it. 23% of Georgia likely voters are undecided over whether they will take the vaccine.
This poll also tested potential matchups in the 2022 Republican gubernatorial primary, 2022 gubernatorial general election, and 2024 Republican presidential primary. These results will be released on January 7, 2021.
This poll of 550 Georgia likely voters was conducted on December 30, 2020 and on January 3, 2021. Qualtrics collected the data for this survey. The margin of error for the poll is +/- 4 percentage points. BUSR paid for the costs of this poll.
The following data incorporates the preferences of likely voters who indicated a lean towards a candidate. This survey was weighted by age, gender, education, and 2020 vote choice for President Donald Trump.
While our poll shows both Senate races with effectively the same margin, there are slight differences. Georgia likely voters affiliated with Republicans are more unified in their support for Senator Loeffler than for Senator Perdue while Perdue performs better than Loeffler among Georgia likely voters unaffiliated with either party.

The races otherwise breakdown among the traditional demographic fault lines. Ossoff and Warnock hold large leads among Georgia likely voters between the ages of 18-39 and minority voters regardless of whether they graduated from college or consider themselves evangelicals. Perdue and Loeffler hold large leads among Georgia likely voters ages 50 and older and among white voters regardless of whether they graduated from college or consider themselves evangelicals. Ossoff and Warnock lead among female Georgia likely voters while Perdue and Loeffler lead among male Georgia likely voters.
Voter Fraud and the COVID-19 Vaccine
Georgia likely voters are divided over whether widespread voter occurred in the 2020 general election for the presidency. 74% of Georgia likely voters affiliated with Republicans question the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election in the Peach State.
Georgia likely voters are also divided over whether they will take the COVID-19 vaccine. Ossoff and Warnock lead by wide margins among Georgia likely voters who will take the vaccine while Perdue and Loeffler lead by wide margins among Georgia likely votes who will not take the vaccine and by a smaller margin among Georgia likely voters undecided about whether they will take the vaccine.
